THE TOWN OF LAUDERDALE-BY-THE-SEA MASTER PLAN: “PRESERVING THE BEST OF TIMES”
Back in 2004 the Town of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea Commission approved a Master Plan prepared by peter j. smith & company. Over the subsequent years, some elements have been accomplished, but, for the most part, the Plan has not been implemented. The current Commission, along with new energy provided by the Town Manager, Connie Hoffman, and the Master Plan Steering Committee, has made putting in place the Master Plan, with appropriate modifications, a priority.
The Master Plan Steering Committee and the Town Manager have stressed the need for public involvement and input from the Lauderdale-By-The-Sea community. To that end, all interested parties are encouraged to attend “A THOUGHT PROVOKING COMMUNITY SEMINAR to be presented by David Sucher, the author of CITY COMFORTS, HOW TO BUILD AN URBAN VILLAGE, on Friday, January 7, 2011 at Jarvis Hall from 4 – 6 PM ; and to join David, members of the Master Plan Steering Committee, and representatives of the Town Administration for a discussion and walk around the downtown area, beginning at 9 AM, Saturday, January 8, 2011, at the Beach Pavilion.
