If you have ever spent any time in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea (LBTS) then you know about the great beaches, the variety of restaurants and bars, and you certainly know about the charm of this beautiful little seaside village. What most people don’t know is that just off the beach in LBTS is the most accessible and beautiful reef in all of South Florida. In fact, LBTS has been designated the Shore Dive Capital of South Florida by the Broward County Commission. The secret is out and LBTS wants to welcome responsible divers and snorkelers from around the world to enjoy their wonderful reefs. There is no better way to tell the world about this hidden treasure than to invite the one and only ScubaNation TV show to LBTS.
Last September LBTS business owner and avid scuba diver Rich Barnhart of By The Sea Realty reached out to Billy Catoggio (Billy C) at ScubaNation and suggested they do a TV show on Lauderdale-By-The-Sea. Billy’s reaction was “We’ve always wanted to do a show there”, and the rest is history. In cooperation with Steve D’Oliviera with the town of LBTS and the local business community, Rich raised the necessary money to fund production and is pleased to announce that filming for the show will begin the evening of Friday March 1st in the LBTS town square. Weather permitting; they plan to shoot throughout the weekend at various dive sites, attractions and establishments in town.
You don’t have to be a SCUBA diver to appreciate ScubaNation or to participate in the activities. ScubaNation is not just about diving; it’s also a travel show highlighting different diving destinations throughout the state of Florida. And, its all about having a good time. In fact, hosts Billy C and Bitchin’ Mitch like to say ScubaNation is “Jacques Cousteau on Rock-n-Roll”. Speaking of Rock-n-Roll, the show kicks off on March 1st at the LBTS Block Party featuring the Mr. Nice Guy band starting at 6:00 PM. Everyone is welcome to come enjoy the music, meet Billy and Mitch, and enjoy the food and drink at Village Grille, 101 Ocean and Aruba Beach Café.
