Lighthouse Point is a coastal town in the Fort Lauderdale area of Broward County, Florida. The town was named for the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse, which is located in nearby Hillsboro Beach on the Hillsboro Inlet. Lighthouse Point is is bordered by Pompano Beach to the south and west, Hillsboro Beach to the east and Deerfield Beach to the north. The town is very popular with boaters and fisherman due to it’s close proximity to the inlet and the Atlantic Ocean. Lighthouse Point also has a large number of waterfront properties, with a high percentage of the single family homes located on a canal or the Intracoastal waterway. Homes in Lighthouse Point offer good value per square foot compared to Fort Lauderdale, so it is also popular with families and owners who work from home.
The town has an excellent location with easy access to shopping and the beaches. Popular entertainment centers like Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton are a short drive away. The Fort Lauderdale airport is only about a 30 minutes drive. For boaters the ocean access is excellent and there are plenty of restaurants on the nearby waterfront.
